6th March at 9:30 PM Adam Bielecki, Amin Ullah and Shaheen Baig have reached the base camp. Artur Małek and Karim Hayyat started to descend in the evening from camp 4 at 7,600 m as ordered by the leader. They are below camp 3 at 7,000 m.
(Newsdesk) Latest news nothing final yet, but tvn24 reported the leader of the Polish Himalayan Winter 2010 – 2015, Artur Hajzer, saying, “We have to consider two of the four Polish climbers who conquered Broad Peak, missing.”
According to PAP (Polish Press Agency) Krzysztof Wielicki said that Maciej and Tomek are “missing”.
There is news that Karim went above Camp 4 (7600m) but was unable to see climbers descending.
Earlier Karim Hayyat was in Camp 2. Shaheen Baig, Amin Ullah and HAPs set out from Base Camp to meet the summit team and help them hydrating and descending.
On March 5th, 2013, Maciej Berbeka, Adam Bielecki, Artur Małek and Tomasz Kowalski bagged the first Winter Broad Peak (8047m) in the Karakorum, Pakistan. They summited between 17h30 to 18h00 local time.
After the summit Artur Małek and Adam Bielecki went down to Camp 4 at an altitude of 7400m, while Tomasz Kowalski and Maciej Berbeka bivouacked on the pass at 7900m. Maciej started going down with Tomasz staying at the bivouac – with no tent. The physical condition of Maciej and Tomasz condition are described as extremely exhausted.
